ケニアの深煎りのコーヒーは特別です。
焙煎において「深く焼く」という行為は場合によっては「個性を消す」作業とも言えますが、ケニアのコーヒーはセカンドクラックを迎えることにより明らかに新しい表情を見せます。
熟したフルーツや妖艶な甘さは深煎りラバーの方々に特別な１杯をお届けすることが出来ると思います。
ガタイティのコーヒーは肉厚なボディ感と甘さを強く感じることができるところが魅力です。

ガタイティ生産者組合は、1656名の小規模な農民から構成されており、前身の農協団体から独立し、ガタイティ・ウォッシングステーションのみを有する1つの組織として2000年に設立されました。ナイロビから北へ160km、マウント・ケニアとアベルダレ山脈に挟まれた標高1720mに位置するガタイティは、年間を通じて涼しく快適な気候と赤い火山性土壌によるミネラルと有機物に恵まれ、コーヒー生産において最適な環境を有します。

持続可能な農業の実現を目指し

ガタイティでは、前年の収穫から積み立てた資金を元手に、組合員家庭の学費の前払い、植樹や肥料などの費用、緊急時の資金調達などをサポートする仕組みを作っています。
また、農業知識のトレーニングや肥料や農具の提供、持続可能な農業に関する印刷物の配布などを通じて、コーヒー生産量を増やすことを長期的な目標に掲げています。
生産量と質を高める事で、農民自身が生産コストを十分に賄え、持続的に最大限の報酬を得ることができるサイクルを作りたいと語ります。
このような取り組みは非常に共感できる部分があり、その地域が一体となって長期的なビジョンを持っているのは素晴らしいことだと考えています。

また、ウォッシングステーションの老朽化が大きな課題で、ウェットミルを稼働するために多くの人出が必要な点、水の使用量、果肉除去機の稼働効率など、古い設備では生産処理コストが大きい為、設備投資を今後の大きな目標として掲げています。

Kenyan deep roasted coffee is special.
Although “deep roasting” in roasting can sometimes be said to be a process of “removing character,” Kenyan coffee clearly takes on a new look when it receives a second crack.
The ripe fruit and bewitching sweetness of this coffee is sure to provide a special cup of coffee for deep roast lovers.
The appeal of Gathaith coffees is that they have a thick body and a strong sweetness.

The Gathaith Growers Association consists of 1656 small farmers and was established in 2000 as a single organization with only one Gathaith Washing Station, independent of its predecessor, the Agricultural Cooperative Association. Located 160 km north of Nairobi, between Mount Kenya and the Aberdare Mountains at an altitude of 1,720 m, Gathaith has a cool and comfortable climate throughout the year and is rich in minerals and organic matter from the red volcanic soil, making it an optimal environment for coffee production.

Aiming for sustainable agriculture

Gathaith has established a system whereby funds accumulated from the previous year's harvest are used to support member households with advance payments for school fees, expenses for tree planting and fertilizers, and emergency funding.
The long-term goal is to increase coffee production through agricultural knowledge training, provision of fertilizers and farming tools, and distribution of printed materials on sustainable agriculture.
By increasing the quantity and quality of production, he says, he hopes to create a cycle in which the farmers themselves can fully cover the cost of production and maximize their rewards in a sustainable manner.
We have a great deal of sympathy for these efforts, and we think it is wonderful that the region has a unified long-term vision.

The aging of the washing station is also a major challenge, and the company has set capital investment as a major goal for the future, as the production processing costs are significant with older equipment, including the need for more manpower to run the wet mill, water usage, and the operating efficiency of the pulp removal machine.

焙煎直後のお豆をお届けすることも多いですが、「エイジング」をかけることによりお豆内部のガスが抜け甘さやポテンシャルが感じやすくなります。

焙煎後1-3週間ごろが最もフレーバーが感じやすくおすすめしています。
焙煎後2ヶ月前後はは美味しくお楽しみいただけます。

3000円以下のお買い上げでは送料が一律700円となります。

焙煎作業と梱包作業を全て少人数で行なっている為、お客様がご注文の決済を完了されてからもお時間を頂戴する場合がございます。
通常は3日以内の発送になりますが、豆の在庫状況によっては最大で6日以内の発送とさせて頂きますのでご了承お願い致します。
